Our lab is offering positions for Honours students in 2019.
We are looking for highly motivated individuals who want to learn advanced techniques and tackle key issues in cell biology. The projects are based in our lab in the Charles Perkins Centre and focus on uncovering the mechanisms that control insulin secretion and applying these discoveries to the development of new treatments for diabetes.
Each student will be supervised by me and mentored by a post doc. If you are interested then email me directly at firstname.lastname@example.org
Congratulations to Jun who has been awarded her PhD (subject to minor corrections).
We have just been awarded funding from the University's Commercial Development and Industry Partners (CDIP) to seed a project with industry partner Captixbio to pioneer new approaches to treating type 1 diabetes.
A paper with our collaborator Prof Herbert Gaisano has just been accepted for publication:
We received a project grant to enable us to determine the role of the apical region of pancreatic beta cells in the control of insulin secretion.
